Biography

Designer Dantrese Canady has had a passion and love for fashion since she was a young girl learning how to sew with a friend of her family, Vanessa Allen . Having this love from such an early age, she has been able to accumulate over 15 years of experience in the fashion industry. She has worked endlessly to perfect her craft on many levels of design and craftsmanship including bridal, evening, ready to wear, alterations, and costuming.

In 2005 Dantrese went on to study Fashion Design at the Art Institute of Philadelphia for 3 years. During this time she landed a job as a seamstress, with established designer Greg Taylor of Walish Gooshe . Soon after she began a clothing line with her best friend, producing collections for two seasons . She also honed in on her skills designing custom pieces for an array of clients, and for celebrity clients that include Jade Alston, Jessy Wilson, GOGO Morrow, Laurin Talese and Vivian Green.

Dantrese takes much pride in her ability to offer her clients a very intimate and couture experience. In 2012 this passion prompted her to begin focusing her attention on building her company, Dahnistry. When Dantrese relocated back to her home town of Arlington, Va she landed a job as seamstress under the head seamstress of a bridal boutique. That ignited her main focus for bridal design, as she learned new techniques in that position. Dahnistry Couture came about in 2015. It is truly the custom artistry of Dantrese Canady. Through her feminine focused design concepts she works to create pieces that highlight the natural beauty and strength of women. Fashion design is truly her passion and Dahnistry Couture is the totality of her bringing this expression to life for the sake of empowered women everywhere.
